Training Project on Using Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Smart Fish Farm Control Systems

Epower Service Company, in collaboration with Chok Anan Farm in Chiang Rai, is developing a smart fish farm control system using Artificial Intelligence technology, together with a team of experts in Software Engineering and Automation Engineering.

Project Objectives
This collaborative project focuses on developing and testing an automated fish farm control system using Artificial Intelligence (AI) combined with Codesys PAC and HTML5, aiming to create a prototype for efficient AI-driven farm management. Farmers will be able to develop and improve the system on their own.

Advantages of Using AI for Fish Farms

Comprehensive Development
Farmers can develop both software and hardware systems independently, without in-depth programming knowledge, by learning to use AI-assisted coding and receiving guidance from experts during the initial phase.

Tailored Solutions
Since farmers are most familiar with every process on their farms, self-developing the system allows them to create solutions that precisely meet their specific needs.

Cost Efficiency
Reduces expenses on hiring software and automation engineers while enabling faster system development and adjustment according to requirements.

Current System Development

Water Quality Control System
Automatic measurement and regulation of Dissolved Oxygen (DO), controlling water agitators, and sending alerts if values exceed defined thresholds.

Temperature Control System
Development of a PID Controller for controlling the temperature in fish nursery ponds, maintaining optimal conditions for growth.

AI Vision System
Use of cameras combined with AI to automatically count fish and fry, as well as analyze fish behavior to detect abnormalities.

Data Management and Alerts
Creation of a real-time dashboard and alert system through multiple channels such as LINE, SMS, or Email.

Project Development Timeline (21 Days)

Week 1: System Study and Design
Analysis of farm requirements, system architecture design, and preparation of AI tools for development.

Week 2: Hardware Installation and Connection
Installation of Programmable Automation Controller (PAC), connection of sensors and actuators, configuration of Input/Output, and communication systems.

Week 3: System Integration and Testing
Integration of all systems, creation of web interfaces with HTML5, development of AI Vision system, and performance testing.

Guidelines for Other Farms
This project serves as a prototype demonstrating the feasibility of using AI to develop automated fish farm control systems. It is suitable for:

Farm owners seeking automated control systems
SMEs in the agricultural sector
Engineers and students interested in agricultural technology
Anyone looking to apply AI in business operations
They can study this model and adapt it to their own farms.

Role of Expert Team
The Software and Automation Engineering team serves as technical advisors and provides guidance, focusing on knowledge transfer to empower trainees to be self-reliant in the future.

This collaboration proves that using AI to develop farm control systems is not as difficult as it seems. With the right approach and tools, farmers who understand their own farms best can create highly efficient systems.

Project Vision
This collaborative project aims to serve as a model for applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Thai agriculture, demonstrating that farmers can develop automated control systems independently.
This technological development forms a foundation for advancing toward Agriculture 4.0 and can be scaled to other farms across the country in the future.
