The SW6 series UV sensors are widely used for detecting ultraviolet radiation and offer a 360° field of view in multiple configurations. Placed within a quartz tube at the center of a circular lamp array, they enable lateral ‘side-looking’ detection of UV-C radiation between the lamps. These sensors are primarily used to monitor multiple UV radiation sources simultaneously in wastewater disinfection plants.

The SW6 detector is specifically engineered for precise 254nm UV-C light irradiance measurements from sources such as low-pressure mercury lights, offering a broad dynamic range. Equipped with a robust ROD diffuser featuring a 360° radial field of view, a dedicated band-pass filter, and a UV-C hardened photodiode, this detector minimizes degradation over time. Its versatile applications span air and water sterilization, Eprom erasure, UV-C pre-aging systems, Municipal water treatment, and medical equipment sterilization.

Main Features

The SW6 360° Field of View UV-C 254nm Irradiance Detector with lateral UV detection is supplied with a 2.5m long coaxial cable with a selectable -1, -2, or -4 type connector for use with Gigahertz-Optiks range of optometers. Internationally traceable calibration & certification of UV irradiance in W/m² and W/cm² within the specified spectral sensitivity range is provided.
