"The Platinum-Cobalt (Pt-Co) standard colorimetry method uses potassium chloroplatinate and cobalt
chloride to create a standard color scale for visual comparison against water samples. By regulatory
standard, 1 degree of color (Standard Chromaticity Unit) is defined as the color produced by 1 mg of
platinum and 0.5 mg of cobalt per liter of water."
